To avoid unpleasant surprises, check how a move abroad will affect your health-care plan before you leave.
Keeping your ONVZ health-care plan
You’ll be able to keep your ONVZ health-care plan in certain situations. It depends on the country you’re moving to and on whether you’ll continue to work in the Netherlands. Check whether health-care insurance is compulsory in the country you’re moving to. The rules might be different for members of your family.

You are going to live and work abroad
If you are moving abroad, but not to an EU/EEA country, a treaty country or Switzerland, you probably won’t be allowed to keep your Dutch basic health-care plan. You should inform our Service Centre that you are moving abroad via live chat or by calling +31 (0)30 639 62 22.
